Kingpin bearings
Kingpin bearings for the steering knuckles of trucks, tractors, three-wheelers and JCB backhoe loaders.
The kingpin is the pivot the front wheel turns on. The kingpin bearing carries the weight of the vehicle on that pivot while letting the knuckle turn, so it takes a heavy axial (thrust) load. A worn kingpin bearing makes steering heavy and causes wandering and uneven tyre wear.
AMB supplies kingpin bearings in the T-series numbers used by Indian trucks and tractors, in ball and roller types, and for the JCB 3DX. The letters after the number show the construction (for example BALL or TR for taper roller).
